TBS Group receives the government emblem and the Grade I Labor Medal

In Ho Chi Minh on July 16, 2014, TBS Group honorably received the government emblems and Grade I Labor Medal at the “Ceremony of the 2014 Leather Footwear Industry of Vietnam” organized by the Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association”(LEFASO). This is in recognition for the contributions of TBS Group to the activities of social responsibility and humanitarian aide in the country.

Founded in 1989, TBS has experienced a lot of ups and downs with milestones marking its maturity in each period. One of the missions of TBS is to bring the Vietnamese industries further into the global value chain. With the slogan “Looking forward to the future” as a guideline for group activities, TBS has grown stronger and gained great achievements in contributing to the national economy, caring for the living standards of its employees, and fulfilling corporate social responsibility.

In economic terms, TBS’s annual revenue is up to trillions of dong, contributing hundreds of billions of VND to the state budget, creating jobs for more than 25,000 people. On the other hand, TBS is the strategic partner of big brands such as Coach, Lancaster, Vera Bradley, Wolverine, Decathlon, Skechers and more.

For the spiritual health of employees, TBS organizes trips, visits to workers and people who are ill and those who have suffered accidents. At the factories, there are collective kitchens arranged for self-catering to ensure the quality of meals, food hygiene, and safety. In 2003, TBS built a dormitory with more than 200 rooms to provide stable accommodation for more than 1,000 employees. Currently, TBS is completing the second dormitory for sale to the family of employees who have need of accommodation.

In terms of social responsibility, TBS is proud to take care of the lives of more than 25,000 employees. In addition, TBS has been actively responding to grievances, gratitude, hunger elimination and poverty alleviation, study encouragement, assistance, support for war victims and families of employees in difficult times. In particular, it has built 35 gratitude houses, 30 love apartments valued at 705 million dong; two high schools established for Dong Hoa Commune, Di An District and Thuan An District, Binh Duong Province valued at 12.8 billion dong. Seven classrooms were built for primary schools and kindergartens in An Binh commune valued at 320 million dong; a drainage system and 600m of concrete road were constructed in An Binh Commune valued at one billion dong. It has taken care of four Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and supported some other local policy beneficiaries such as a post–addiction treatment program with 200 million dong. It has contributed a charity fund to Di An District each year with 120 million dong. It has attended the campaign to support flood victims each year from 30 million to 100 million dong/time. It has participated in buying public bonds to build schools for poor children in remote areas. In particular, TBS has supported the Agent Orange victims and the Fund for the Poor with over one billion dong.
